This post is from a senator
and with my comments.
Do enjoy! df

Dear Fellow New Mexican,

I hope you'll take a moment to read my op-ed in the Albuquerque Journal on addressing skyrocketing student loan debt and strengthening our economy. Please share your thoughts with me on this and other issues important to you. Be well and keep in touch. Let’s reduce crushing burden of student loan debt. For the first time in our nation's history, the total amount of student loan debt has exceeded the total amount of credit card debt. This very real problem weighs heavily on New Mexico families.
Student loan debt
is NOT ALWAYS NECESSARY!
Sure you can pay
over $80,000 per year
 at some private schools!
It costs over $70,000 per year to attend Harvard!
On the other hand,
 if you live at home,
and go to a state university,
the cost is as low as $1,500 per year. Getting an associate degree
at a junior college,
 will save considerably more!
I paid $1,200 at a private college in 1959;
it has NOT gone up very much,
in spite of inflation!
I student who wants to
can work!
I did so, for a four year degree,
 with no debt!
So don't tell me
about the high cost of college,
or the tremendous debt they are in!

Last year, Congress narrowly stopped a student loan interest rate hike from going into effect. As a result, undergraduate students borrowing this year are able to take advantage of historically low rates. But students who borrowed before this agreement could be paying rates as high as nine percent.
I did have a few loans
during my advanced degree, but
I paid only 3 % in 1965
and could spread that out
over 10 years,
hardly a burden.

Those who pursued an education to get ahead are starting out behind. Student loan debt is proving to be a debilitating impediment to achieving the American dream. Recently, I met a working mother in southern New Mexico who told me about her family's struggle to raise their children while paying her husband's student loans for a degree he earned more than two decades ago.
Ditto above!
NOT "debilitating impediment"!
This story is a lie,
NOT POSSIBLE,
WRONG AND
A DEMONS FABRICATION!

Another woman shared her story of going back to school to become a teacher. She is a single mother who wanted to make a better life for her daughter. She got her degree, but not without acquiring more than $40,000 in student loan debt. She worries that she will be paying her loans well into retirement. And as a parent, she worries for her daughter who will be entering college, and fears she has no choice but to take out loans to pay for her education.
This woman was extremely foolish,
if she
exists at all!
She would have had to
add in her booze,
child care,
rent for herself
AND her relatives
 food,
 and more to acquire
more than
$40,000 debt!

Unfortunately, these stories are all too common. Outstanding student loan debt in America totals more than $1.2 trillion. In New Mexico, students are graduating with an average of nearly $18,000 in debt.
All too common?
Yes there are a
LOT of foolish,
and ignorant people in the world.
Think of those
who voted for
you and Obama!

Outstanding balances not only affect families working to pay those loans - it affects the economy as a whole. Because of this debt, many are unable to buy a home, start a business, save for retirement, or even start a family. In today's economy, we should be eliminating the obstacles that keep Americans from earning the education needed to get ahead. College should not be a luxury; it should be an opportunity all Americans can afford.
You sir, don't give a dam,
 about the economy.
If you did, you would
stop spending our tax dollars,
on more and more federal spending.

This week, I voted for legislation that helps address the problem of skyrocketing student loan debt. The Bank on Students Emergency Loan Refinancing Act is a proposal that allows those with outstanding student loan debt to refinance their private and federal student loans at the lower interest rates currently offered to new borrowers. Allowing graduates to refinance would put more money in their pockets and strengthen our economy as a whole.
Refinance?
I THOUGHT I NEEDED TO REFINANCE;
each time I did,
I got deeper in debt.
So you want the students
to get DEEPER in debt?
By reducing the federal budget to Constitutional levels,
you could have a "stronger economy",
Something you can not possibility understand!
BTW,
we could PAY OFF
our national debit in 2014,
 even without canceling
our $10 trillion foreign aid.
Our government borrows,
 and prints money
to pay foreign nations,
money,
even when they hate us!
I still have not talked about the government waste programs which amount to over $20 trillion.
(example Sir: Your salary forever,
 and your benefits.
You should consider being a congressman, a PRIVILEGE,
 NOT a RETIREMENT PROGRAM!
You, of course, do not realize that
YOU are a traitor to America!
Obama is certainly a traitor when
he sends our tax dollars to our enemies
in Egypt and Syria.
90 % of you congressmen
have voted along with Obama,
to send 16 F-16's and 200 tanks to Egypt!
Obama sends money are over the world,
 in support of the
Black muslim Brotherhood!

However, Senate Republicans decided to filibuster the bill. They do not seem to understand that crushing student loan debt is a serious issue that forces many Americans to put their dreams on hold. Higher education is one of the most important investments a person can make for their future and everyone should have the opportunity to afford it. Republicans know this and even recently helped do something about it.
You demons are
fond of knocking Republicans!
If you knew ANYTHING,
 you would know,
 they are saving your ASS,
 when they vote
against more federal spending!
or for more and more perks,
 for themselves!

Just last year, Democrats and Republicans in Congress came together to prevent a student loan interest rate hike. This was great money-saving news for students taking out new loans; however there are still approximately 134,000 New Mexicans who would benefit from passing the Bank on Students Emergency Loan Refinancing Act.
Again you are talking
about "money-saving news for students". What about for the government?
If you demons,
and the lying current demon dictator,
enacted ANY of my thoughts above,
the government could
provide FREE education!
We really do not want that, however;
it is what Hitler did,
to bring more people under his control!
Let the students pay their own way, and
they will appreciate more!
I did!

We had an opportunity to come together to address skyrocketing student loan debt, and instead Republicans in the Senate chose to leave families, students, and the economy behind.
Just the opposite,
which is the badge for demons!

A college education opens the doors of opportunity and provides an avenue into the middle class for our families. College graduates are nearly twice as likely to find work as those with only a high school diploma, and they will earn $1 million more in their lifetime.
Finally you are right congressman!
EVERYONE KNOWS IT!
You have JUST discovered it?

To strengthen our nation's economy and give Americans a fair shot, it is imperative we relieve the financial strain outstanding student debt puts on our families and put higher education within reach for all Americans.
"imperative
we relieve the financial strain?"
"Higher education"
IS
"within reach
for ALL AMERICANS"!

Senate Republicans should reconsider their priorities and allow the Bank on Students Emergency Loan Refinancing Act to move forward so we can provide immediate relief to student loan borrowers and strengthen our economy.
You love to chastise the Republicans, but
YOU ARE WRONG!
They are saving your butt.

A bit of advice for you,
MARTIN HEINRICH.
You should get on your knees,
and beg forgiveness from the Republicans,
 and from the Lord!
Then resign!
Please take all your traitorous friends with you!

Democrat, New Mexico
